Overview
Five Days, Three Parks, One Extraordinary Kenyan Journey
Kenya's three most celebrated wildlife destinations — Amboseli, Lake Nakuru and the Maasai Mara — are brought together in this 5-day itinerary that delivers remarkable variety in under a week. Each park offers a completely different landscape and wildlife experience: Amboseli is famous for its elephants with Mount Kilimanjaro as the world's most dramatic backdrop; Lake Nakuru is a rhino sanctuary with a flamingo-fringed soda lake; and the Maasai Mara is simply one of the best places on the planet to see big cats.
The route is a logical loop from Nairobi — south to Amboseli, northwest to Nakuru, southwest to the Mara, then back to Nairobi — with each drive revealing another facet of Kenya's extraordinary Rift Valley scenery.
Itinerary
Nairobi to Amboseli — Elephants & Kilimanjaro
Morning collection from Nairobi. Drive south to Amboseli National Park, arriving for lunch at your lodge. Afternoon game drive: Amboseli's elephants are the stars — large-tusked bulls and breeding herds against the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak. The park's swamps attract elephants, hippos and buffalo, while the open plains are patrolled by lions and cheetahs. Sundowners with Kilimanjaro views — one of Africa's most photographed panoramas.

- Can Kilimanjaro really be seen from Amboseli? Yes — and it is one of Africa's most spectacular sights. Kilimanjaro rises 5,895 metres just across the border in Tanzania. Amboseli sits at the mountain's foot, and on clear mornings the snow-capped summit provides the most dramatic wildlife photography backdrop on the continent. The best viewing is typically at dawn, before cloud cover builds. June–October and January–February offer the clearest skies.
- How does this compare to the Tanzania 5-day safari? Both are outstanding. Tanzania's Northern Circuit (Tarangire, Ngorongoro, Serengeti) offers more variety and the unique Ngorongoro Crater experience. Kenya's circuit (Amboseli, Nakuru, Mara) offers Kilimanjaro views, better rhino viewing, and a generally shorter driving time between parks. The Mara's big cat viewing is on par with the Serengeti. Many guests choose one or the other; some combine both for the ultimate East African safari.
